Detailed guidelines have been issued for registration of SDMC for exemption of donations under section 80G of IT act. This is to be done to incentivise donations for development of our schools. If this certificastion is obtained by SDMC, donors will get income tax benefit on amounts donated for development of school in SDMC account.
Many principals/HMs have already sarted process of registration which involved obtaining of PAN card and thereafter, registration under section 80 G of IT act. In some cases registration under 80 G has successfully been done by schools. I would advice you to complete this process for your school as early as possible so that you start getting donations for school development. This will help you in mobilising donations for your school.
